The “Party of Family Values” put the 10 Commandments in my kids’ school, so can someone explain why my 10yo needs to learn about “adultery”? Or why my 7yo needs a reminder not to cover his neighbor’s wife? Guess I should check the Bluebonnet Curriculum to see how it defines “hypocrisy.”

Just when I start to feel acclimated to life in Texas, my kids’ school drops “Horseshoe Sandwich” on the lunch menu. I’m very sorry, but where I come from, those bad boys are not for eating.

The Chronicle’s invitation to “Understand the Gen Z Student” fundamentally misunderstands the “Xennial Professor” who doesn’t have $69 to spend on cross-generational insight. Try me again when the price of childcare drops.

Not loving the ratio of responses to what I thought was a fairly gentle post in a Facebook group. A mom was crowdsourcing for a daycare that was cool with the fact her baby won’t be getting a measles shot.

5 likes, 2 hearts, 4 laughs.

Reason #476 million not to put a convicted criminal in the highest office of the land: he’s used to seeing judges as the enemy. It’s almost as if this outcome was predictable.
Is the Trump administration's conflict with judges a constitutional crisis? What to know
Legal experts warn that the country is sliding toward a constitutional crisis as President Donald Trump openly defies the federal courts.

Just learned Gen Z and later think the thumb’s up emoji is rude. Obsessing over every email and text of the last decade. What now? How do I say, “Cool!” or “Got it!” or “Great, thanks!” without resorting to spelling things out?! My world is imploding! 😵‍💫

Six decades later, Star Trek may still be the only franchise based on the ideas that diversity is strength, justice is the measure of civilization, bounty is to be shared, peace is worth the price, and all these things can be achieved.

We need more shows that look ahead and find goodness.

Super important article for educators in TX (and elsewhere) now and the entire US after January 20th.

Accidentally saved myself $800 by getting a new screen protector instead of a new phone. Old phone prices, new phone feel! ☎️

Big respect for the Cub Scout mom who put her name on the party planning volunteer sheet then followed it with “No!”

For the @nytimes.com I wrote about how Enough is Enough with the incumbent president and his cabinet of folly and let’s stop coddling Trump voters and be real clear-eyed about what lies ahead. www.nytimes.com/2024/11/17/o...
Opinion | Enough
To suggest we should yield even a little to Trump’s odious politics is unacceptable. Even if we did, it would never be enough.

Kennedy’s claims (from the article):

-Wi-Fi causes cancer/“leaky brain”
- school shootings are attributable to antidepressants
- chemicals in water can lead to children becoming transgender
- AIDS may not be caused by HIV
- vaccines cause autism & fail to protect from diseases

We are doomed.

This is my kind of news. Save the grim cabinet appointments. More humans in bear suits.

Also, impossible not to mention that 4 men committing bear fraud, one of whom actually dressed up as *the wrong species of bear for the region,* is yet another reason most women would choose the real-life bear.🧸
