Ed Kravitz passed away yesterday.
He was a remarkable scientist and mentor- brilliant, curious, creative, and kind. I am grateful to have learned from him. His legacy will endure through his science and through the many people he inspired.

We will miss you, Ed.

Proud of my PhD student @rodento.bsky.social for her first study on the effect of environmental structure on social phenotype of desert locusts.

An amazing collaboration with @einatcouzin.bsky.social , who got me to work on locusts.

Dear JEDIs,
as we are self-organizing using the #EDRC as a nucleator we decided it is time for a JEDI database to boost our network! If you identify as a JEDI, please contact us here or send a mail to [email protected] to be added to our database.

We had a great European Symposium for Insect Taste and Olfaction, ESITO, on Sardinia where I was invited to talk about evolutionary aspects. This was how spiders entered an insect meeting 😉.🕷🧪
#SilkeSachse and #MarkusKnaden for organizing it!
Lovely decorated cream cake especially made for the social dinner of the symposium. The logo of the symposium was printed on marzipan.
