Poorly boy means the Christmas we had planned is called off. On the plus side, it does mean not having to drive on Boxing Day.

Ugh @virustotal.bsky.social why are you still using data from Phishing.Database on GitHub? It's quite clear it is an absolute dumpster fire of data with no validation when they list the whole of AWS S3 as phishing.

It's only taken 25 years of patient waiting to finally get hold of it. But today we did, although it cost us a bit more than the Nominet registration fee.

It was first registered in 1996!

@microsoft.com giving the middle finger again to hosting providers I see:

"Furthermore, Web edition has traditionally served small to medium web applications where cost efficiency is critical. Today, Azure SQL Database delivers highly cost-effective, scalable solutions for modern web workloads."

GPT would have been such a great technology if LLMs were just used to augment search engines. Their natural language processing ability means they can find relevant content no matter how you phrase your query. No more keyword matching, just ask a question, or describe what you’re looking for. 1/2

Ok. They’ve pissed me off.

I’m back to tell you 3 things about ID cards:

1. Migrants ALREADY HAVE biometric ID cards & govts have been trying to digitise them for years w repeated fuckups & failures causing complete chaos - they don’t work, you do not want that system for you.

This is what the UK considers edtech governance: the regulator waving away concerns about biometrics being used to pay for food.
Aside the digital rights issue, it is infuriating that schools are expected to understand the privacy and security risks. Risks that are so great no workplace does this

Ugh, gone out for breakfast, two people on next table spouting trump rhetoric about renewables, "well wind just doesn't work does it?"

Yeah mate, doing absolutely nothing nothing at all for us.

Not today Apple. Not today.... or tomorrow, or any other day generally any more. Guess the behaviour analysis needs some time to catch up to the change of car.

Today I felt old. My first reaction was, "people still use IPX for their network?"
⚠️ A security advisory has been published for IPX.

ℹ️ Image assets in directories with the same prefix (e.g., /public123/*) may have been accessible.

✅ All 3 IPX major versions have been patched. Both @nuxt.com and @netlify.com have released updates.

⬆️ Please update to stay safe.

ASVs really need some self awareness "we need to scan this domain, please whitelist 40960 IP addresses". No. Stop. You're now a weak link in the security chain for a whole server. Have some self awareness.

Okay world, do your thing. Need suggestions for basic uptime monitoring with easy phone call based alerting. Need to leave StatusCake. Way too much of their infra is DigitalOcean, so we're basically testing DO for issues not us.

Why on earth have Amazon taken a massive step back in the pin entry UI on FireTV? It now takes several more button presses and worse than that, your kids can see the pin! At worst before they knew which half of the range each digit fell in, now they know every digit!
