I know someone justified it with "it's consistent with the other princess designs!" when the reality was "it'll save us 1 million dollars every five years of merchandising" and "she'll spend 99 percent of her existence wearing a princess dress and gloves anyway."

Doing some long-overdue cleanup on the English language this morning… "Carcinogenic" is now "cancerogenic." "Floor" is now "foor," the opposite of "roof." Complementary colors rhyme (red/gred, orange/blorange)

Is there a comic or manga about someone who makes costumes for superheroes on commission, combining satirical observations about the silliness of superhero comics with observations about the world of cosplay and fursuit manufacturing. It's not a serious problem but every survival/crafting game I play, I go through the same process where I try to build a way too big and pretty initial house with the starting tools only to realize you're supposed to build a minimum shit hovel and then immediately develop better building options

Yeah, I definitely agree that for all the attempted flashiness it's a flatter experience than the original. Something I love about the original is that the cutscenes and codec calls actually feel pretty brisk compared to the rest of the series.

I feel the same way revisiting Halo all these years later, I used to have such strong feelings about which ones I preferred and which mechanics I really hated but we're not getting anything like the Xbox/360 era ever again, so now I just appreciate that they all bring something unique to the table.

The latest Retronauts briefly mentions people who still hate Metal Gear Solid Twin Snakes, and obvs people can have their preferences, but I always think "You got a backpack full of Metal Gear games nobody knows about, that you're okay just tossing one out and not treating it as a LITTLE precious?"

I guess I'm glad I stuck it out, but I don't see myself going back to Halo 1 ever again. I spent the first half mentally preparing myself for what a miserable slog the ending is, and it was still several times worse than I remembered!
