Earthling. Eductor. Maker of things. Reader. Vegan marathoner, though I'd never mention it. Desperately trying to subvert the dominant paradigm.
Sitting in the theater watching Wicked: For Good yesterday, I realized that Glinda shows us what has to be done when one discovers they are complicit in evil. You gotta use what you have to burn that shit down!

Really Gregory Maguire, you published this timely tale in 1995?! Oooooh-kay. 🧹🔥

How many more days do I, an essential federal employee, need to work without pay to demonstrate loyalty?

So, say The List gets published.

There are going to be names that surprise us on it. People we love and trust. What do we do with that?

Cancellation? Forgiveness? What's next? And next after that?

Are we ready?

What sort of fucked up name is Operation Midnight Hammer?

It doesn't sound righteous; it sounds like a mob hit.

This is what I've been saying!

Where have we privatized and gotten a better return on our investments? For-profit hospitals? Universities? Military contractors?

But sure, preK-12 education will be different. Fuh.
But why defund schools?

To curate failure — to say that public schools are broken and public school teachers are inept all in a push to privatize public schools. To dumb down the populace. To demonize a system that educates over 90% of kids in this state…

Here’s the real reason why DOGE is gutting the IRS.

(Hint: it has nothing to do with “efficiency.”)

A 94 year-old woman showed up to protest in Hillsboro, Oregon at the Hands Off! protest!

I've never met her, but I absolutely love her!

Thanks for sharing, @goofyquestion.bsky.social!

Just spent a good 10 minutes remembering how much I loved to Graffiti write on my Palm Pilots. Aaaaah, simpler days.

So #Skype is going dark in May. What other (free) app can I use to make (free) phonecalls to, you know, phones?

Skype has been my go-to for calling my elected officials from overseas for 20 years! 🤷🏻‍♀️

I used to listen to podcasts on my runs. These days, it's full albums played through, no skips.

This morning, was Belly's debut album Star. When "Feed the Trees" hit the airwaves of my local alternative station, it changed me. I sang it to the clerk at Tower Records so she could help me find it.

Today's album was Radiohead's Kid A. The opening notes of "Everything in It's Right Place" are sonic perfection. And it just gets weirder, thrummier, and better from there.

My students keep telling me it's an important day today. I've got my lucky MLK Jr. shirt on and just hit 900 days in Duolingo. Momentous day, indeed!

Today's album was Add It Up by the Violent Femmes. All my faves, plus some great B-sides, humorous bits, and some political rawr. #runfast

Chapter 10 in The Outsiders today. This is the only chapter I can't bring myself to read aloud.

Not a dry-eyed 8th grader in the room. Even the kids who hate reading react to this book.

We talked about how being tuff can include feeling one's feelings.

Brené Brown says, "We are not thinking beings who sometimes feel. We are feeling beings who sometimes think." & that's given me a lot to chew on when communicating in my family, my classroom, and in the world.
How can I best communicate ideas that affect change without the hysteria and lies?
