Gave a knitted hat to my friend cuz she loved it. Later, she worried it might not be warm enough for a really wintry day. So I let her pick a color, ordered the yarn and made what I hope will be an “inner” cap. Thinking it would be cute if the lace stuck out a bit. 🙂
Meanwhile, I’m making another hat. This is for a good friend, details later!

A recent cardigan (button not added yet) and a 2008 baby cardigan which was a fun knit — one piece folded over and sewn together.

The Picacho Peak hat is soaking now. (Pic is unblocked.) I enjoyed this knit, it was interesting enough while not being too complex for road knitting! Took a test run on an AM walk and it was warm enough for a non-windy moderate winter day. More info in alt txt.
Winter’s here & I couldn’t find my favorite all-purpose hat — was very bummed. So, road trip project is a replacement. It’s cold so I dug out my Seriously Weatherproof Jacket and threw it in the car. Surprise! Later found my fave in a pocket! Deets in alt txt.
Weekly theme: “Indy designers and dyers”. I want to highlight NW Philly’s Courtney Kelley & Kate Gagnon Osborn, founders & owners of Kelbourne Woolens, a values-based business. I’ve queued Kelly’s Seascale sweater in Kelbourne’s Germantown worsted! See alt txt.

Floofy knits this week! First up is a mohair scarf. This was 18 years ago when I didn’t know what a challenge mohair lace would be! Came out nice, eventually 🤪.
More recently, mohair + worsted.
