By that logic, if I don't want my taxpayer dollars going to bail out farmers, we shouldn't be doing that either.

These people are just the worst kinds of idiots.

VARNEY: You canceled almost $8b of energy projects, most of them in blue states. Are you punishing the blue states?

CHRIS WRIGHT: We are punishing the wasteful spending of taxpayer dollars ... do you want to subsidize E-bike lanes lanes in Portlandia?

(That's not a no!)
Around the same time, DIRECTV started including Disney+/Hulu/ESPN with some of their plans.

So there MAY have been people cancelling paid accounts because they were receiving the included accounts instead.

Still think the losses were big, but that MAY have played a role in that number.
Absolutely pathetic move by ABC.

Completely spineless. Everyone is such a coward. Really makes you wonder where we go from here.
The saying has always been "a grand jury would indict a ham sandwich".

But, I guess this proves that's just not true.

Breaking NYT:

Federal prosecutors were unable to secure a felony assault indictment against the man who threw a sandwich at a federal agent on the streets of Washington this month, according to two people familiar with the matter. www.nytimes.com/2025/08/27/u...

Ask him about this sign…is it true?!?!

(Took this when I was covering the team in 2012…feels like a campaign slogan…)
The last line of the story…

“Stringer noted that real officers do not wear ski masks.”

Umm…either HPD doesn’t acknowledge all the chaos agents out there as “real officers” or they are completely oblivious to the world around them.

So let me see if I get this…

We need the military to keep DC safe…but the prosecutors are saying you can open carry with zero consequences?

If you’re wondering if Republicans are the dumbest people ever…yes. Yes they are.

“Federal prosecutors in D.C. have been instructed not to seek felony charges against people who are carrying rifles or shotguns in [DC], regardless of the strength of the evidence, according to U.S. Attorney Jeanine Pirro and an email reviewed by [WaPo].” www.washingtonpost.com/national-sec...
Pirro’s office won’t pursue gun charges over carrying rifles, shotguns
A statement from Pirro on Tuesday said D.C.’s blanket prohibition on carrying shotguns or rifles “is clearly a violation of the Supreme Court’s holdings.”

No idea what the original post was…but as a kid who grew up with divorced parents, a cross-town zip line would have been WAY better than awkward pickups/dropoffs.
This is next level humor here.

Republicans…all of them…are weak, pathetic people.

Taking PBS funding for no reason (but throwing money at awful, terrible things)…

No excuse. Awful people. No reason for anyone to ever vote for a Republican again.

NEWS: Trump's cuts to NPR, PBS and foreign aid clear Congress

House gives final passage by a vote of 216-213.

The Senate passed it yesterday 51-48.

With Republican votes only. Democrats all voted NO.

This now goes to Trump for his signature.

Trump's cuts to NPR, PBS and foreign aid clear Congress
The $9 billion package passed the House and Senate with only Republican votes through the rarely used "rescissions" process. Trump is now expected to sign it into law.

Going to bed knowing Senate Republicans are cowards. Utter cowards. And while we’re all asleep, they’re going to vote to cut off PBS funding for NO REASON WHATSOEVER.

F’n pathetic losers. All of them.

But what happens until then? 3 more years of destruction? Even if Dems take all of Congress late next year, Trump will just do what he wants anyway.

How does any of this end in not a horribly bleak next 3 years?
What’s really scary is that there’s no solution to this.

Even if Dems take all of Congress next year, so much damage has already been done and Trump will just ignore whatever they do.

Not sure how normalcy comes back. Really really bleak out there right now.
jamesgoodwin.bsky.social
Simply extraordinary. Congressional Republicans are cheering on the fact that Trump will ignore parts of a bill they passed on partisan lines without a single Democratic vote. Article I is dead.

CNBC: It sounds to me like the president persuaded you by saying he's gonna override some of the provisions in the bill. Is that right?

RALPH NORMAN: He's going to on the permitting drive a hard bargain. He's gonna have accountability. You'll see some executive orders.
Completely secondary to all the awfulness...

So what is your preferred solution in Texas?
It’s like the bill wasn’t quite evil enough for Senator Johnson.

Once they took away MORE from the poor people, then he could support it.

He (and all of them) are just garbage.

RON JOHNSON says Trump and Senate leaders agreed to back Rick Scott's amendment to phase out the 90% Medicaid match for expansion population under the ACA.
"We can't afford it," said Johnson, expressing confidence they can get the votes.
Guts part of Obamacare...
If the party sponsoring the bill can’t get enough votes on-board HOURS into it…maybe, just maybe, it’s a bad bill.

Just pull it and try again. This hours-long “voting” nonsense is ridiculous…

…which is on-brand for the right-wingers.

RICK SCOTT LEAVES THUNE OFFICE. “I haven’t voted yet” when I ask if he’s decided how he’s voting. Walks upstairs. Says he’s still working to get to a balanced budget
So Hawley hates the bill but is still voting for it.

Typical Republican hypocrite. All of them…identical. Pathetic.
sahilkapur.bsky.social
Hawley is a YES

But: "This has been an unhappy episode here in Congress, this effort to cut Medicaid... Frankly, my party needs to do some soul searching. If you want to be a working-class party, you’ve got to deliver for working-class people. You cannot take away health care from working people."
