Remember tomorrow that the origins of Thanksgiving- as a truly national holiday- came from the work of Sarah Hale and Abraham Lincoln. A nation gave thanks to God as it mourned the Union dead and prayed for the defeat of the Confederacy by either changing rebel minds or bringing them to submission.

Our younger son and his wife adopted this beautiful 9-month-old puppy last week from a local rescue shelter. His name is Earl, and they think he’s a Black Mouth Cur (mixed with some other breed). Whatever Earl is, he’s a sweetheart! ❤️
