Being on social media has taught me a couple of things:-

FIRST: There are some incredibly brilliant and caring people in the world.

SECOND: They are VASTLY outnumbered.

AI isn't "taking our jobs"

It is doing "the" job.

If we think this is bad for civilisation it's because we have Stockholm Syndrome to the idea that we must be a part of the economic machine simply to exist.

"Some people say"

When we create a society that regards anecdotes, opinions and lies as equal to truth, evidence and facts. 🙄

Oh honey.

Are we still pretending the US constitution is anything but toilet paper at this point?

The only thing I'm shocked about is that people are shocked.

A surprisingly large number of them think the way to connect with Gen Z is "dress like Sylvester McCoy's Doctor Who."
A screen grab of a Times article. The photograph depicts three men and a woman - according to the caption these are Charles Amos, Rhys Benjamin, Daniel Campbell and Glesni Reece.

Charles is in tweeds and a fedora, Rhys sports a combover and a question mark pullover as worn by the seventh Doctor Who. Daniel wears a blue "Make Britain Great Again" baseball cap. Glesni, unlike the others, is not wearing an outlandish costume, just a black tailored jacket over a white blouse.

Text reads:

Meet the young Tories dreaming of a bright blue future
The Conservatives know they have a problem with Gen Z voters. At the party conference, The Times met a new breed of activists who are embracing the challenge

NEW: Since October 2023, the IDF Spokesperson's Unit has released dozens of 3D animations illustrating alleged Hamas, Hezbollah, and Iranian sites

The style is now unmistakable: satellite zoom-ins, black & white wireframes, and red-textured houses - a new visual language of war

Q: Have you given any more thought to possibly suspending habeas corpus?

TRUMP: Suspending who?

Q: Habeas corpus

TRUMP: I don't know. I'd rather leave that to Kristi.

Always loved this clip. It's right up there alongside Jeff Daniels' 'America isn't the greatest' speech from Newsroom.

No sudden rupture is now required for the far right to take power in this country. For what we're seeing is a steady normalisation of extremists by the Conservative and Labour Parties, BBC, Telegraph, Mail and others. A shift once considered unthinkable beings to look acceptable, even inevitable.🧵

Starmer must think that the Tolpuddle Martyrs, Luddites, Chartists, and Suffragettes etc are unBritish. I wonder how he thinks he went from council kid to a Sir without them.
Protests are a huge part of British history, they have changed legislation, society and united us (well some of us).

I’ve always been unBritish m8
KEIR Starmer has urged students not to protest on the second anniversary of the October 7 attacks.
The Prime Minister branded protests planned at universities across the UK "un-British".
Around 1200 people were killed and 251 others were taken hostage in the deadly attacks on Israel by Hamas in 2023.
Writing in The Times, Starmer described protests set to take place at universities on Tuesday as "un-British", claiming they show a lack of respect for others.
