Liberal ‘opposition’ to the far right in Europe is not just *indifferent* but complicit to the cementing of austerity policies, the dehumanisation & persecution of migrants. It turns a blind eye when figures like Macron make a mockery out of formal democratic procedures. 3/ bsky.app/profile/prou...

Remarkably, in the liberal scaremongering 'far right in Brussels' list, Meloni is nowhere to be seen. Mitsotakis’ & his far right cabinet can continue taking the piss out of EU institutions and rule of law/press freedom violations. Fascist perspectives get rebranded as ‘legitimate concerns’. 2/

We are truly between a rock and a hard place. While the far right keeps getting normalised and rising, the liberal mainstream in Europe only sees a problem with Orbán, Fico, Babiš, a potential Le Pen or AfD victory because of their attitude towards Russia. *Nothing else*. 1/

The more Syrian Kurds I speak to the more apparent it becomes that after Suwayda even opponents of the PYD/SDF feel they have to back the SDF and reject Damascus. The Suwayda massacres were a disaster for Syrian integration, but most Syrians still don't recognise it.

Here's the reality: On any given day the President might impose an effective embargo on trade with China. This is the second time he's done it *this year*. They may patch it up again, but the pattern has been set, and it will shape expectations for the rest of his term.

Musk is turning X into a 24-7 propaganda machine. He knows the Republicans are in trouble on the Trump Trainwreck (people want their healthcare), so he wants to flood them with right-wing nonsense non-stop on his platform

Most people don't realize that most of this destruction was done with US weapons during the Biden Administration. By the time the first formal ceasefire was implemented, 3 days before Biden left office, 69% of Gaza's infrastructure had been destroyed.

AI is so embedded in their lives, that it's become inseparable from their work. Students who never learned to write in high school are just continuing not to learn in college. We can't make every assignment in-class. We can't police them 100% of the time. So what are some solutions to repair this?

Here's the thing about AI: all of our students are using it. Constantly. For personal essays. For narratives about trauma. For creative writing. They're using it for every assignment. We're seeing a 50% rate of academic misconduct in first-year classes. How exactly are we supposed to address this?
