Movies (run video store, physical media, sad takes), coffee (roast, prepare, consume), housing (we need a lot more of it), grammar (huge lay vs. lie slug), unpopularity (few followers, fewer advocates). He/him. Iowan by birth, Bostonian by choice.

post a perfect album from the 90s that isn't nirvana, soundgarden, pearl jam, or alice in chains.

Every time I see Garza posts from Celtics fans, I'm reminded that they quite possibly never saw him as the GD wrecking ball he was in college. #GoHawks youtu.be/yF7-w5e7VHI?...

Midnight screening of Freddy vs. Jason in Dubuque, IA. In one of the whitest counties anywhere, the crowd was amazingly diverse and felt like a family reunion in terms of participation and camaraderie. No party. No costumes. No spoons. Just reverence and belonging. Think about it all the time.
Raising the always fun question: What are your most memorable theater-going experiences?

Mine also include The Matrix, Blair Witch, and being way too stoned in Belgium when Fellowship of the Ring was sold out so we sat in the back row for Mulholland Drive instead.
It was hands-down one of the most memorable theater-going experiences I can remember, a collective 30-minute butt-clench/armrest-grab for the final climb. And we knew he lived! Wild.

Movie you’ve watched more than six times with a gif. Hard mode: no Stars (Wars nor Trek), LOTR, or Marvel, Disney Animated or Pixar.

* There's been a lot of conversation about lists like this over the past few weeks, so we (The VU in Boston) decided to throw our two cents in with a few caveats:
- The year 2000 is the last year of the 20th century, not the first year of the 21st century. C'mon.
- Only one entry per director.

I walked into an elevator with a couple friends to discover Kevin Nash and another dude. Friend asked Kevin "how he's feeling these days." His response? "(sigh) Drug tested."
I was in West Hollywood having dinner at my hotel bar. I was sitting next to Brooke Shields. Laverne Cox was having dinner at a table nearby.

I got up to go to the ladies room, pushed open the door, and ran right into Salma Hayek. Nearly knocked her over. She is a tiny person!
Right folks. Feeling rather down at the moment so bringing back an oldie
