Always amazed at how this man, who is 3rd in line for the presidency and is the leader of the house of representatives, seems to be completely unaware of anything going on in US politics.

It’s almost like he’s lying 🤔

Q: Do you agree that the mayor of Chicago and governor of Illinois should be in prison?

MIKE JOHNSON: Should they be in prison? I'm not the attorney general. I'm not following the day to day on that

Streets are still closed off in front of the Portland ICE facility at 8:30pm. Protesters have gathered on a side street. Dance party in progress.

The logic behind this plan is insane. “We’ve kicked out most of our workers and made the entire country a hostile environment for any foreigners, but now we want to bring more workers in and pay them even less”

Really!?!? That’s the plan?

"Either Trump’s Labor Department actually believes that Trump’s immigration enforcement is destroying the agricultural sector and threatening food security, or they are pretending this threat is real in order to crush wages for both foreign and domestic agricultural workers."
Trump Labor Department Says His Immigration Raids Are Causing a Food Crisis
In a filing in the Federal Register, the Labor Department argues there are “immediate dangers to the American food supply” due to a lack of migrant agricultural workers.

We need to end qualified immunity for these sociopaths and start charging them with state level crimes that trump can't pardon.

Um, ICE just coldly shot an unarmed PRIEST in the head w a pepper ball when he (and everyone around him) clearly posed no threat.

For the crime of … complaining about government policy.

This is what Dems are drawing attention to and want fixed. Now, not later.

This video is such as self own. It shows that the protests are small and peaceful….not exactly something that needs National Guard troops deployed against. Oregon should use this video when the ninth circuit hears Trump‘s appeal on the restraining order.

Gonna be thinking about this lede for a minute.
(RNS) — Last month, the Rev. David Black stood in front of a Chicago-area U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement facility and spread his arms wide. Adorned in all black and wearing a clerical collar, the pastor looked up at a group of masked, heavily armed ICE agents on the roof and began to pray.

“I invited them to repentance,” Black, a minister in the Presbyterian Church (USA), said in an interview. “I basically offered an altar call. I invited them to come and receive that salvation, and be part of the kingdom that is coming.”

But when Black began to lower his arms a few seconds later, the agents responded to his spiritual plea by firing pepper balls, or chemical agents that cause eye irritation and respiratory distress, video footage shows. One struck Black in the head, exploding into a puff of white pepper smoke and forcing him to his knees. Fellow demonstrators rushed to his aid, and as the pastor rubbed his face in pain, the agents continued to fire.

“We could hear them laughing,” Black said.

pretty sure we're less than a week away from random people getting killed by ICE agents.

I fear if things don’t change right now, this image is going to come back to haunt us

A federal agent points a weapon at a woman who was recording them.

Jess, a U.S. citizen and member of a neighborhood patrol team that documents and shares ICE activity across the city, was filming when the incident occurred earlier today in the Berwyn area.

So hypothetically, what is to stop a future Dem president from levying taxes/tarrifs on things that only millionaires/billionaires buy (yachts, super fancy cars, etc.) and using that revenue to fund whatever pet project they like?

Federal data say the opposite.

The fact that they can't even be bothered to hire a couple different actors to play fake people shows how stupid they think their viewers are.

So. What this tells me is that they know they can't fire people during the shutdown like they want to, so now they're trying to get them to quit by claiming they won't get paid during a furlough. What a bunch of assholes.

Johnson: "It's true that in previous shutdowns, many or most furloughed employees have been paid for the time they were furloughed, but there is new legal analysis - I don't know the details, I just saw a headline - but there are some legal analysts saying that might not be appropriate or necessary"

I have yet to see ANY serious policy discussions about how this is going to managed. Power generation is increasing, but there is no way we have enough supply for what is coming. Especially with the current admin cutting off renewable energy to focus on fossil fuels.
