something i find very helpful on this front is realizing that you cannot actually directly beam experiences into someone else's head. this sounds obvious but it's the default way surprisingly many people think about art. what you're doing is basically giving someone tools to GENERATE an experience

Sometimes we’re unsatisfied with a thing we made because when it only existed in our head, we saw all the things it could have been and when it’s done we know all the things that it isn’t, but we can’t see the way it expands into a million new things when someone else unpacks it in their head. 🖊️🦑

There are so many mundane things that NEED to be done that aren't chaining yourself to a fence and getting pepper sprayed.
- buying cases of bottled water and snacks for protestors
- making copies of "know your rights" cards
- taking care of their pets/kids while they're at the protest

Just heard someone say that if you aren't willing to get arrested or die at a protest you aren't serious about the cause and that's a) not true and b) not helpful

You don't need to have a death wish to fight for a better world, and anyone who says you do is throwing up a massive red flag

It has been kind of amazing, in my own lifetime, to see Gen X, Millennials, and now Gen Z all accused of *exactly* the same or sometimes opposite things, with the accused becoming the accusers with no self-awareness whatsoever.
