The Labor Management Council of Greater Kansas City & BOMA put on another well-ran Public Officials Reception. The event brought together more than 175 public officials, labor, and businesses for a no-agenda gathering. Thanks to Bob Jacobi for leading the effort.

A community needs a vaccination rate of at least 95% to be adequately protected from measles outbreaks. In Missouri, the rate of vaccinated kindergarteners stands at 90%, while some areas have rates as low as 75%.

Hundreds of workers and civil rights leaders rallied with renewed energy in Kansas City on Wednesday night, just moments after the news broke that Texas had approved a redrawn congressional map to favor Republicans.
