Okay, this is my *official* BlueSky introduction 🧵: Hi, I'm Michael and I work on multimodal transportation (👨🏾‍🦽🚶🏾‍♂️🚴🏾‍♂️🚌) in the bi-state Kansas City region. In this thread, I'll answer 3 questions:

1) What do I tend to post about?
2) Why BlueSky?
3) Where do things on this account go from here?

Rather than simply boycotting e-commerce giants, Free DC is organizing a "procott" in time for holiday shopping.

Crashes like these are part of the reason why I believe #Missouri needs to pursue intelligent speed assistance legislation similar to what has already passed in places like Virginia.

Disappointing that California failed to pass this bill. We should always believe survivors of domestic violence and allow them to speak, especially in a court of law.

I would love #Kansas and/or #Missouri to adopt such legislation. As far as I know, neither state has such a measure on the books.
A failed California reform would have helped domestic violence survivors erase previous convictions. “I can picture all the people it would help, all the people who aren’t going to be judged by the worst day of their life that took them to prison.”
For Third Year, California Kills Bill to Help Incarcerated Domestic Violence Survivors
Advocates in California have pushed for relief for people convicted of harming their abuser, hoping to build on states across the political spectrum that have adopted such reforms.

"Witkoff, who hasn’t traveled to Ukraine this year, is set to visit Russia for the sixth time next week and will again meet Putin."
Three powerful businessmen—two Americans and a Russian—hunched over a laptop in Miami Beach last month, ostensibly to draw up a plan to end Russia’s long and deadly war with Ukraine.

The contents of the version of the peace plan for Ukraine are being kept secret, say European officials, and much of Brussels remains in the dark. Negotiations between the Ukrainian and U.S. delegations will continue through the weekend. But even senior EU diplomats admit nobody knows what changed.

Today, after months of requests, I toured the Broadview ICE Processing Facility. I want to share what I saw.

The facility has no food vendor, no medical care, and detainees have to use toilets in the middle of shared cells. These are in no way suitable conditions to be holding anyone — period.

This should send shivers down the spine of Republican and Democratic members of Congress alike.

It's a 'perspective' not capable of negotiating for true U.S. interests.

1. A landmark study was just published in The Journal of Pediatrics.

It found a 68% reduction in suicidality for trans youth getting HRT.

It also found only 7 of more than 400 stopped taking HRT... and of those that did, 4 still identified as gender-diverse.
