FOX: If you cut something by 100%, the cost goes down to 0. If you cut it by 600%, the drug companies are actually paying you

LUTNICK: What he's saying is if a drug was $100 and you bring it down to $13, it's down 7 times

F: Not a 600% cut

L: But it's 700% higher price before. It's down 700% now

Rubio terminated 5800 USAID contracts – more than 90% of its foreign aid programs – in defiance of the courts.

Here’s a list of just some of the lifesaving awards that were terminated. Nearly all were Congressionally mandated. They’ve saved millions of lives. 🧵

I guess they don’t realize that this move actually promotes the books. It doesn’t squash them. Looking forward to my buying one or two of these books. They look great.
I was set to launch my book at the Carter Library next month.

This week, we were told all events now need approval from the National Archives. The next day, my event was forced to relocate.

A book about the working homeless. A book about civil rights. Apparently these topics are now off limits.
This is a shamefully racist movement that should be resisted by every person of good will.

@brian-goldstone.bsky.social’s forthcoming book is incredible and it’s honestly the archive’s loss (and the nation’s).

Do me a favor and compliment someone today. Tell an artist/creator or whoever that the thing they made is cool.

This year has started off unimaginably horrible, and it's probably not going to get better anytime soon.

Spread a bit of love. Make someone's day. We all need that now more than ever.

Although the federal courts have blocked Trump's efforts to destroy birthright citizenship for millions of Americans, his campaign to harass & vilify immigrants continues. Immigrant families should know their rights.

A person was at MacDonalds when an ICE agent called out to him, “Hey Amigo” He isn’t Hispanic and doesn’t speak Spanish. After detaining him they let him go saying they should deport anyway because he has a minor record. What country am I in?

Not what we want to hear, but what we need to understand.
Auschwitz was at the end of a long process. It did not start from gas chambers.

This hatred was gradually developed by humans. From ideas, words, stereotypes & prejudice through legal exclusion, dehumanization & escalating violence... to systematic and industrial murder.

Auschwitz took time.

It isn’t even one week. So let’s be there for one another. Especially those who feel threatened and unseen. Those are the people who I want to wrap my arms around today.
This has been an exceptionally difficult and frightening week. Check in with the people around you. You never know who might need that kindness.
