I've swayed a few people with this argument:

If a corp pays you to hold a door open for 40 hours a week, if they deem that they need someone to fulfill that role, you deserve a living wage.

The primary thing an employer is taking from you is your time. Skill and experience is second.

Too many people, including politicians, care about maintaining the illusion of moral superiority rather than fighting corrupt systems that are directly responsible for the death of innocent lives. Fighting oppression isn’t supposed to be diplomatic.

my own view is that if we must have commercial landlords, that landlord should be the city. as they are not motivated by constant number go up they can charge lesser rents and enable vital streets.

also municipal governments are not parasites.
