Ansari: I think ICE is completely out of control, and there should be no more funding given to ICE. The funding that's already has been given to them through the big ugly bill should be stripped entirely

It would take a two-word amendment to 42 U.S.C. § 1983 to subject ICE agents and other federal law enforcement officers to the same liability for constitutional violations that local and state officers currently face.

If Congress actually cared about what it's seeing, it could pass that overnight.

Current DOJ use of force policy states that even if the ICE officer did what Trump, Vance and others are claiming he did, that's still not allowed. From the policy here: www.justice.gov/archives/ag/...

Yes, JD. Let’s ask them if they think a stay at home mom, avowed Christian, and widow of a veteran deserved to be shot in the face and left to bleed out in her own car after dropping her 6-year-old off at school, for the crime of looking out for her neighbors. Let’s ask everyone running for office.

This NY Times video breaks down the reckless incompetence of ICE, the ICE Agent’s murder of Renee Nicole Good, the cruelty of ICE in the immediate aftermath, and the blatant lies of the Trump Administration.

Make sure everyone sees.

Emily Heller, an eyewitness, is speaking out to set the record straight. Officers were screaming at Renee Nicole Good, “Move, move, move.”

So she moved, and they shot her multiple times? Then Noem and Trump branded her a domestic terrorist. Does everyone see how absolutely insane that sounds?

If the US invested in child care and had national policies like paid leave comparable to other industrialized countries, we would generate $775 billion of economic activity a year. The question should not be, “how can we afford to do this?” The question is, “how can we afford not to?” Let’s do this.
Most New Yorkers can’t afford childcare.

Heads up that this is authorization for Trump to create his own version of the Wagner Group. Which would bring the number of “armies” at his disposal to four:

*regular armed forces (most regulated)
*ICE (minimally regulated)
*private mercenaries (?)
*MAGA thugs/militias (rogue)

All pardonable

The DOJ has filed 25 anti-voting lawsuits this election cycle — over half of the 43 total. This willingness to challenge state voter rolls, pursue 2024 election files and more shows its commitment to weakening voting protections and becoming “Trump’s DOJ.”

America has 925 billionaires as of this year. Collectively they have a record $6.9 trillion in wealth.

The bottom 50% of Americans control $4.2 trillion in wealth.

When 925 people control more wealth than half a country’s population, we have a very serious problem.

Trump openly tells his flock he’s stealing $1 Billion from the treasury for himself — and somehow makes himself the victim in the story.

And they clap.
Trump makes a "joke" about stealing a billion dollars intended for charity and giving it to himself. (Something he has done multiple times.) "I negotiate with myself," he says.

The moves come after a $60 million lobbying blitz from the forever chemical industry.

We spent a year investigating billionaires for @washingtonpost.com.

We found: the wealthiest 100 Americans gave $1.1 billion to influence the 2024 elections — 140x more than they did in 2000. And almost all of that giving boosted Republicans.
