TIL about a memorial ceremony in Iceland in 2019 to mark the end of a glacier, changing the place name from Okjökull to Ok (jökull = glacier). Uncompromising wording on the bronze plaque:
"This is to acknowledge that we know what is happening and what needs to be done. Only you know if we did it".

Thinking about a dog training client I met today. This isn’t unique, and I wish it wasn’t common.
The client called about wanting to integrate three dogs in the household. There’s already been 3 fights within 2 weeks, with large bites.

Today I learned the director of public policy for Meta, Dustin Carmack, wrote a chapter for Project 2025. Carmack was a research fellow for cybersecurity intelligence and emerging technologies at The Heritage Foundation.
