Doesn’t really apply in this case. One statement in defense of his own doesn’t make up for how he’s consistently voted against women’s rights, LGBTQ2 equality, DEI initiatives etc.
November 29, 2025 at 4:12 AM
Oh trust me - this man is no hero. Did he stand up for women’s rights? For LGBTQ2 persons, & against transphobia? Did he stand up against the mass targeting and illegal detention of non-whites for deportation?

He’s still a piece of shit, but now he’s a piece of shit standing up to Trump.
November 29, 2025 at 4:06 AM
PS: the absolute worst thing Trump could do is to go after this dad who is defending his daughter. I mean can you imagine?

Which is exactly why he’ll probably do it.

Insanity. $229 USD for that junk. People will buy anything & everything. Everybody walking around with this huge empty hole inside that they keep trying to fill with junk and garbage.

Like, if we wanna start hurting the billionaires, maybe we start with not buying the crap they sell us, you know?
November 29, 2025 at 4:00 AM
While you’re not wrong that too many don’t find their heroism until it directly affects their own, the fact we’re seeing more and more Republicans speak out is a good sign, if only because it means Trump’s vice like grip on the GOP is weakening, & they all know it.

They don’t fear him anymore.

Taylor Allison Swift herself could release a line of these monstrosities colour coded to all her albums & I would STILL hate them, and mock anyone who buys one because $229 for something your gran could make with a crochet hook in 7 minutes is the worst of capitalist insanity.

Nope.

Which goes to prove that the faction of Albertans who howl the loudest about Ottawa don’t really want a better relationship with the feds, and there is absolutely nothing the feds could ever do that would appease Albertans.

I stg this province is as entitled as Quebec, with half the culture.
November 29, 2025 at 2:24 AM
10 years from now, the Alberta government won’t be any closer to having a new pipeline than it is today.

You can bet on that much.
November 28, 2025 at 8:57 PM
That’s a very dangerous position for any conservative leader to take. Alberta IS the CPC.

If this turns into a Pierre vs Dani messaging battle, my $ is on Danielle - primarily because she’s saying what Alberta conservatives want to hear, & she’ll ride this narrative cuz it makes her look strong.
November 28, 2025 at 7:52 PM
He wasted the entire election campaign pandering to that faction. If the beast has turned on him, it’s because he fed the beast and riled it up.
November 28, 2025 at 7:44 PM
I honestly don’t think even he knows what he’s doing at this point, Duane. His leadership is on life support, and he’s reacting poorly to that realty.

In the meantime, Danielle heads into this weekend’s UCP AGM with what she can herald as a massive victory against Ottawa, so she must be delighted.

As to be expected. But it’s not going to get built, and that will be apparent before too long.

Same in #yeg. I’d send a pic, but I’m too lazy to get out of this recliner.

Speaking of which, I need someone to fetch me a snack.

I do not know. I think so?

I would ask my own resident young person, however I used up my allotted one question per day on asking them what they thought of the new Christmas tree topper, and now I am out of question allotments until tomorrow.

BTW, their opinion of the topper was 🤷‍♀️
November 27, 2025 at 4:55 AM
Is this doing a “based”? Is this what the young people would consider a “based”?

Help an old lady out here.

His QP appearances all seem like 22 Minutes skits, his weird, stiff fist-shaking antics look childish in the face of Carney’s consistently calm demeanour… he gives “petulant child”.

But, the CPC base seems to love him, so who knows what’s happening in backrooms, what knives are being unsheathed 😉
November 27, 2025 at 4:41 AM
What the CPC really needs - if they ever want to win again - is a new leader who can keep them united, but keep the extreme lunatics on a leash, and use their nomination process to keep them leashed.

Harper was a MASTER at that. All others since have failed. Therein lies the problem.
November 27, 2025 at 4:36 AM
I don’t disagree with any of this.

Voters didn’t necessarily want Pierre and the conservatives, they just wanted Justin gone.

Trudeau leaving saved the party from crushing defeat. Carney & Trump were factors, but voters wanted Trudeau gone, not necessarily Poilievre as PM.

Big difference.

The “Red Letter” Christians. They live by the words of Jesus as printed in red, in The New Testament.

I respect Red Letter Christians. They walk the walk.
