We legalized slavery because capitalism cannot function without slavery. And capitalism cannot be allowed to fail even though it has never been a functional economic system and has always been designed to push everyone but the top 1% into slavery.

Exactly. We never abolished slavery. We only funneled it into the prison pipeline. That's why it's so important for them to keep rounding up black and brown folks and putting them in prison.
