I have a very healthy obsession with Star Trek.

Pour one out; COVID ruined Earl Grey for me.

I'm curious about how you arrived at that conclusion. I'm no Stalin scholar, but I don't see the parallels. Personally, I see Dukat as an amalgam of a few tyrannical leaders who all operated within authoritarian regimes, but at his highest position, he was still a puppet of the Founders.

"I was only 17 or 18 when I repeatedly racially harassed a 9 year old. I either can't remember what I did, or it was done without malice or intent, and how can these people remember this? But that Shamima Begum, she was 15 and old enough to know what she was doing..."

Vorrik's pon farr is a bit less dignified - the photo at the top of the page for pon farr on Memory Alpha is not the most flattering photo of Alexander Eisenberg that exists. He still gets to keep all his clothes on, though.

Because I don't spend much time remembering Enterprise, I forgot that T'Pol also had a pon farr as well. I'm sure it was depicted with the same restraint afforded to Leonard Nimoy and Tim Russ.

Barclay eschewing human company for holograms of the Voyager crew feels a lot like the folks who think ChatGPT is sentient.

I'm now up to the episode where Barclay makes contact with Voyager. It might have been a narrative mistake to have Voyager in touch with Starfleet at this point? It undercut the final homecoming imo.

And the original Voyager comes across the biomemetic remnants just at the end and... what about the transwarp conduits and slipstream drive that took them ~30 years closer to the Alpha Quadrant?

Course: Oblivion is an interesting concept, but it raises so many questions. For nearly a year, there's been two Voyagers heading towards the Alpha Quadrant but there was never any overlap?

The Singularitarian fantasists who want us to elevate machines to consciousness are not interested in the happiness of all beings.

They want to degrade the biological body to a mere vessel, one they can discard. It's bunk theology for men who believe they're too smart and special to die.
