Everyone: Do something about our healthcare premiums.

So, like, Mark Zuckerberg has plenty to atone for, but at the end of the day, we're not getting fed White Nationalist sludge because that's what he wants. (Well, on Twitter may be it is...) We're getting it because large numbers of us have voted with our clicks and eyeballs to say "more please."

Even that's not a great example. You can combine <input> textboxes with a <datalist> to let users start typing into a box and get a sub-list of constrained matching options. See the MDN page for an example of what it looks like.
<datalist>: The HTML Data List element - HTML | MDN
The <datalist> HTML element contains a set of <option> elements that represent the permissible or recommended options available to choose from within other controls.

I really wish I could go back to that naive self of mine that had never heard of these people.

Now, just imagine if you could join a club with 340 million members. You could pay some annual membership fee that gets collected automatically from your paycheck. That 340-million person club could really negotiate some great prices on behalf of its members.

Blown away by that framing! This is what “the Olds” who dismiss the impact of social media don’t get. We have removed limits to access without considering accountability.

There’s cognitive psychology support for a limit of 5-9 items, but the key is to move away from digits. Instead of trying to memorize a 16-digit number, chunk them into four 4-digit numbers and it’s reasonable. (And yes, I do have multiple CC numbers memorized, to your original question.)
