Thanks, I got it years ago during my erasmus stay to cover the ugly furniture in my room and make it look cozy :) 😅

It is becoming a post-rebuttal tradition to spend the whole weekend reading.

And people worry no body will ever read their thesis 😅

What an opportunity to come visit us in Prague! ❤️ 👀

The Colloquium in Pattern Recognition and Computer Vision of the Visual Recognition Group at CTU in Prague has a long tradition dating back to 1998. The list of all speakers is available docs.google.com/spreadsheets.... Enjoy! The 50th edition is coming soon cmp.felk.cvut.cz/colloquium/

Nash is almost 5 months and I got used to disappointed faces whenever I show up in the office alone - he mostly comes once a week so I am essentially one big walking disappointment 😂 Maybe I should put his pic on my CV when I start looking for internships 🤔

Have you ever asked yourself how much your favorite vision model knows about image capture parameters (e.g., the amount of JPEG compression, the camera model, etc.)? Furthermore, could these parameters influence its semantic recognition abilities?

I would love to believe people generally spend more time on baselines than this outside the rebuttal period, but I am not sure I do :)

I am soo exhausted after the author-reviewer discussion period.

And I feel like it resulted in pretty much no discussion among reviewers. I found a short discussion with other reviewers post-rebuttal for ICCV/CVPR more useful than this endless back-and-forth. My sample is small ofc. :)

though I guess that the larger the XX, the less chances you have, you probably have a hard time finding any alone time at conferences :)

I literally thought "what is the worst thing that could happen," and then I found out who Ralph is, and he started talking about taking pictures, I wanted to run away 😂

It is never too late to try! It has always led to very interesting encounters for me (the sample size is very small though) :)

Random CVPR story: I went for lunch late, everyone I know had already eaten. Despite being the introvert I am, I thought "it is CVPR, you should meet people," and forced myself to join a guy sitting alone, and the next thing I know, I am on the cover of the computer vision news 😂 (Ralph was great!)

Huge congrats to Illia and Nikita! They started working with us last summer, finished their 1st year of bachelors!! and masters now, and this is their second publication. They worked hard for it alongside full-time courses and didn't get discouraged by the first reject. What can I say, I am proud 🤩

Our paper "Image Recognition with Vision and Language Embeddings of VLMs" has been accepted to BMVC! @bmvcconf.bsky.social 🥳
We compare zero-shot (lang-guided) and vision-only (k-NN) capabilities of recent VLMs (SIgLIP2, RADIO, ..) + propose a simple learning-free fusion, more details coming soon!

I am not sure when was the last time I actually looked at the reference section, except for maybe confirming a paper under review in 2025 only cites 2022 and before papers...

Posting cute pics while reading "What is the worst thing your puppy has ever done" reddit threads 😅

Nash is slowly losing the puppy face in exchange for 2.5 extra kgs 😁

I am still too scared to try 😬😅

Are you at @cvprconference.bsky.social #CVPR2025 ? Come and check out LPOSS.

We show how can graph-based label propagation be used to improve weak, patch-level predictions from VLMs for open-vocabulary semantic segmentation.

It is not like I am trying to suggest people pick their phd advisor based on csranking either (though I think it is nice to mention since most people have no idea what/where CTU is :D), I mostly mindlessly copied Lukas's ad :)

⚠️❗Open PhD and Postdoc positions in Prague with Lukas Neumann! ❗⚠️

We rank #5 in computer vision in Europe and Lukas is a great supervisor, so this is a great opportunity!

If you are interested, contact him, he will also be at CVPR with his group :)
