Mark Carney is riding an anti-Trump wave. Will that be enough to win Canada’s election? | Erica Ifill
He’s got name recognition and gravitas. But he lacks ideas for how to heal the fissures in Canadian society, says political columnist Erica Ifill

I finished #Theresidence and it was so good. Uzo Aduba was brilliant as the world's greatest detective. The whole cast was great. Randall Park cracked me up. I really hope they do more seasons, more Cordelia Cupp please

Drones! We have great companies there.

Check out Sky Canoe, for example. They’re an Indigenous company that builds really interesting RPASs:

This is so tacky. What’s with the slogans on hats? Do I look and sound like someone who has anything in common with convoy MAGA. shitheads? Team Bonnie hats? We’re Liberal voters, ELITISTS, ffs. Put on a nice outfit and talk the talk. This is Ontario, not Alberta. 😒

They don’t call an unnecessary election during one of the most crucial moments for our province.

Canadians are so influenced by the story America tells about itself that we don't know our own history, which is linked from the beginning with their history. We are on the margins of an empire, so this is normal. 1/x

Wow! Quyaana (thank you) Anchorage Daily News and Nancy Lord for the book review of Alaska Native Resilience!
Holly Miowak Guise’s book details that Alaska Natives, far from being passive participants in a war brought to them, actively protected their lands and cultures — leading to strengthened tribal connections and greater equality.

Coincidences happen. The day the NYT is running a profile of Joly, I'm publishing this.

She has to go as foreign affairs minister. Now. Today.

But whatever her failings, they're just downstream of probably the "original sin" of the Trudeau-era Liberals.

Matt Gurney: Joly's Halifax humiliation was at least on-brand for her government
Her terrible performance on stage was, if nothing else, consistent with how the Trudeau government approaches every issue: a comms plan instead of an action plan

Hey fellow Canadians, could we please not do the 'as a Canadian' thing on here? Whenever I see it trending on that other place I feel embarrassed before I even see the actual posts. Thanks.

Saving the CBC is really about saving Canada
Pierre Poilievre reportedly has plans to slash the CBC's budget. That would be a disaster for national unity.

I accidently watched all of 'The Perfect Couple' after the boxing. I did not hate Nicole Kidman's wig in this, and I love Michael Beach in anything, so I give it a rating of 'this was probably bad but I like everything so I guess it was ok'. Off to IMDB to look up Shooter's actor.
