I’m scientifically curious but not coherent. I love trees but can’t name any. I took up crochet and now own a lot of balls of wool. Happier writing than talking, but I can say hello in 4 languages, and, use too many, commas. Open to ordinary.
Listening to Black and British by David Olusoga, read by Kobna Holdbook-Smith. Enthralling and appalling. Have to say I’m sorry, world, I should have known this already. And then I have to ask, British governments, schools universities and society, why didn’t I?

Reading the fascinating @bettanyhughes.bsky.social book about ancient wonders. Paradise is from an old Persian word meaning ‘walled garden’. Wouldn’t have guessed in a million years but it’s growing on me, the idea of spending eternity back against the wall, watching the grass, the sun and the sky.

What I really don’t understand is why more people haven’t told Trump that he talks shit most of the time. The majority of people know this and yet he’s been getting away with this for years, enough to give him a taste for it.

Here are some of the thousands of messages we've received from supporters recently. We'll be delivering them to Number 10, because it seems the government needs this reminder too.

@hopenothate.org.uk solidarity for your march and campaign against the right wing march in London today. And for anyone kidding themselves they are proud patriots not emerging racists, flags are being raised by masked men in the dark by command of fascist Farage & violent thug Robinson. For shame.

#StopReform You can see Farage coming for rights in The UK same as you could see Trump screwing people over in The US. Don’t think people voting for them respond to logic. But in case …

Listening to #TheHandMaidsTale excellently read by #ElisabethMoss. Heard 2 things today. 1) The part about women losing bank accounts & jobs. 2)@channel4news.bsky.social interview with Liverpool’s female chief constable & the stupid remarks from the local stupid party MP re female officers. Shiver.

Learned from a random site today … the word muscle is derived from the Latin word for mouse because physiologists thought that muscles look like mice moving under the skin. 😁

#Malthuscalling #ageingbadly Reading this the night before my birthday has been fairly sobering. Pretty sure the UK situation isn’t much better, even before Labour opens up the NHS to US finance ghouls 🙁.
