I can’t believe the number of Americans I have encountered here in Netherlands who are wearing jackets / sweatshirts with “Canada” or Maple leaf flag on them. Are they trying to be incognito? As soon as they open their mouths, they blow their cover.

I am in Kampen, Netherlands. On this day, 80 years ago this town was liberated from German occupation by Canadian soldiers. Nearly all the shops and many private houses are flying the Canadian flag and sporting banners thanking Canada.
