In 1971, a 30-year-old Neal Adams sat down to crank out a Superman cover for Julie Schwartz. Took him an hour or so. It became one of the most iconic comic book covers of all time. Coming up at Heritage soon. Might be a million dollar piece.

I think we all had carte blanche for these pinups. I remember asking if I could draw the golden age version and they said they really wanted the current, modern look. I drew the newer costume but gave her the older hair style.

Theres about a week to go on this auction at Heritage. Seeing it available again 34 years after I drew it triggered a very rare moment as I found myself bidding on something that I drew, not to drive up the price, but because I would like to own it again.
