I have been really disappointed in the way elected Democrats have not spoken up for our alliances with Europe and esp Canada. It's worth raising a bigger stink over! Speaks to the way it's taken for granted (which is especially frustrating as we're all realizing it's less stable than we thought)

In my (12 story) college dorm, there was a trick to getting the close door button to work: you'd stick your arm through the opening to trigger the sensor and if you pushed the button after that it would close immediately. Push the button without tripping the sensor and it wouldn't work at all.

This was what I suspected you'd say. I'm glad that there's something going in, but it sure seems like if everyone had started from a position of "how do we get this done" instead of panic we could've gotten here a long time ago!
