I hate the Great Lake winds and the lake effect snow and digging out the car and the gloomy winter but otherwise I quite like it here.

It's still hard to believe that less than six months ago, we were waffling in Dallas. Then we decided on a course of action and were on the road 2.5 months later.

I am begging everyone on here to read this new post by Bryan Johnson — the super rich tech guy who is now doing the “never die” protocol.

I need to talk about it with you all.

I haven't been up to anything interesting except reading a lot of cookbooks, baking, frying, and fermenting.

Turns out this is not the case where I live after all and I can toivel things as late as I want.
So annoying when you live OOT and there's only one keilim mikvah and it's attached to the women's mikvah building so you can't use it at night out of respect for privacy

I immediately started playing a stupid mobile game again so nothing happened.

It is nice not having to see every stupid thing that distracts me from my personal goals.
Going to deactivate for a month to focus on my executive dysfunction. Bye for now!

My take on the housing crisis is that my neighborhood is entirely duplexes with some townhouses & apartment buildings and we're right off major roads & the highway & a huge park with bodies of water & the property of disguising the fact that you are in the city instead of a forest.

It's nice!

I wonder how fast I'd get a job if I took a break from ALL social media except Whatsapp for a month.

Hot take, like actual hot take: part of my galus yidden beliefs is not starting up with progressive xtians who say dumb things about Pharisees and money lenders/money changers and flipping tables in the temple.

Anyone have a recipe?
Beginning Monday, a Frozen Peppermint Hot Chocolate drink will be available exclusively at Starbucks cafés inside Target stores.

The chains are hoping the drink can drum up excitement from customers this holiday season.

A lot of people who do most of their socializing online and get overexcited when they meet likeminded people IRL need to hear this
I want to very gently say something, and I hope nobody will be mad: If somebody on the internet says something that is NOT about politics and NOT about how terrible everything is, it’s a kindness not to reflexively make a comment (in jest or not) that brings it back to those things.

Was handed a pizza bat'leth at shabbos lunch last week and had to hand it off to the host because it was heavy and I am weak
Barclay,

No, there is no such thing as a butter bat’leth.

By definition a bat’leth is very sharp.

Modox people love to read exegetical and homiletic and hermeneutic seforim written in English that quote Kant and Kierkegaard and use words like "exegetical" and "homiletics" and "hermeneutics"

Sometimes I wrap a mitpachat and think I look really cute and then I catch a glimpse of myself in the mirror a few hours later and I look like Professor Quirrel

My husband grabbed my foot for some reason and asked why my toes were freezing even though I was wearing socks. My icicle feet can now freeze people through my socks. #LevelingUp #Raynauds

I put on my headphones thinking my music was paused, only to hear "you'll be dead before your time is due, I know."
Thanks, The Animals. It's always a good day to do teshuva!

in the 19th century, there were extraordinarily graphic religious tracts condemning lesbianism and bondage. these were sold for relatively high prices to people who wanted to read about lesbianism and bondage. QAnon is that, but for pedophilia.
q anon specifically is really fascinating given that it was initially founded on an infamous gathering site for pedophiles, moved to the site which was explicitly founded by pedophiles for pedophiles, and basically faded away when its followers just got bored of Satanic Pedophile Armageddon

Bro doesn't know how ectoderm works.

If I ever heard someone talking like this sober, I'd assume they were experiencing psychosis

"skin as part of brain?"

This is that great intellect people talk about?
