This is one explanation I've seen for why they will forgive Trump....because "those Dems are coming after him for his faith" (Which is hilarious because he has none.....but this is how they think)

In other words, they are VERY good at manipulating. Christians are raised with being told from a young age that they will be persecuted in this life (there are many Bible verses like this) Anyone who challenges/"comes after" a Christian they think it's all part of that persecution for their faith.

I think he, like many Christian Nationalists had a way of talking with a high percentage of seemingly rational ideas that made sense to people with devout Christian faith. But when he expressed the opinions we would object to, it was in spaces they didn't see/hear and so they judge the % they knew.

The way our country sees completely opposite perspectives continues to boggle my mind. I know where it comes from and why we're here but these are people I have known for years and we now see the world in opposite ways.

It's night & day in my world. Every church friend who is an (R) (ie most of the church people I know) think he is like a martyr for Christ & "just had open discussions". Talked to some church friends who are Dems and they said "if they mention him once more at church I'm not going to go for a while"

I hear this stuff weekly. I cannot believe these people accept this behavior. But they probably set it up a decade or two ago and fell into a pattern. I do feel for them but I want to wake them up.

Listened to a money podcast while driving home. Woman has been managing their money for 6 years and he just goes out spending it drinking after work. 350k in debt.

Why are these women accepting this unacceptable behavior?
