Residents in the South Ward of Newark have never had access to the Newark Airport train station, stymying mobility for residents who most need public transit.

Now, a $160M project is underway to right that wrong.

Airport workers who live here will see bus commutes drop from an hour to 7 minutes.

🚨 Only one week left in the legislative session‼️ If IL legislators do not find a transit funding solution by THIS Saturday, May 31st, our region will have to begin planning for devastating service cuts.

Like many other large transit systems across the nation, Chicagoland is facing a fiscal cliff as we draw down on remaining COVID relief funds.

Now is the time to protect and improve the future of our transit system. Urge your legislators to take action by signing a letter at SaveTransitNow.org 📲🚌

Chicago’s regional transit is in a crisis. Without action from the IL General Assembly this spring, our transit system faces a devastating collapse:
❌ 1 in 5 Chicago workers could lose their commute
❌ Cuts to weekend Pace service
❌ Cuts to off-peak Metra service
❌ 3,000 transit jobs eliminated

We'll say it again because certain people need to hear it: pay for federal workers accounts for just 4.3% of the budget.

If the federal government were to fire every single worker, it would only reduce government spending by less than 5%.

What DOGE is doing is just cruelty.

Transforming Transit envisions a region where a well-funded transit system benefits everyone. In a future with sustainable funding, a Des Plaines entrepreneur could benefit from faster and more frequent transit service that would double access to jobs and connections to local businesses.
