We explore how space and time are interconnected in shaping wheelchair users' everyday lives. We show how physical barriers and different modes of movement can alter the perception of time and how varied experiences of time shape interactions with space.

3) Additionally, our research challenges the expected impact of empathetic communication on public support. Contrary to expectations, expressing empathy with citizens' concerns does not significantly increase public support for helping Ukrainian refugees.

2) Our findings reveal that while the Czech Prime Minister acknowledges the efforts of volunteers helping refugees, empathy towards citizens hesitant to offer help is notably absent from his communication.

These themes align with academic critiques of the CoFoE and reinforce the Eurosceptic view of an "elite cartel" running the EU.

I explore how Eurosceptic groups challenged the CoFoE. I uncovered two major themes in their critique:1️⃣Claims of manipulative governance—that CoFoE was just a PR stunt by EU elites. 2️⃣ Allegations of lack of representativity—citizens weren’t truly represented.

3) On a theoretical level, we call for greater consideration of the role of culture and local context in the research on adolescents’ motivations for civic engagement. On policy level, it reveals conditions
under which youth become motivated to engage with the issue of migration.

2) These mechanisms help to explain why Czech adolescents felt the need to engage in helping refugees from Ukraine, even though migration was a distant topic for them until their arrival.
