Socialist, but must settle for voting democrat.
The USA is a mess that is beyond repair
Would love to see California take its 4th largest economy in the world, become sovereign, and ditch the USA
Dems must do better. I am a socialist whose only choice is to vote dem. We need more AOCs and Mamdani’s.
Multiple parties with proportional representation in a parliamentary government would serve our country far better than this inept duopoly.
Hakeem Jeffries talking in inarticulate circles on the Last Word tonight clearly demonstrates the need for new Dem leadership. We have the bench strength in the party to do so much better. We need strong messaging, a compelling plan and leaders able to inspire.

How can anyone tolerate Trump? All he does is sow chaos. He is exhausting beyond measure and sucks up all the oxygen leaving everyone else with nothing. Every day of his presidency is draining.
How could anybody want this? Isn’t everyone just tired?

Splendid idea!
Settle Greenland the honorable way: by single combat. The two leaders alone in the arena. To the death. It should last what, 30 seconds?
I am now having inappropriate thoughts about the King of Denmark.

A thousand amens to this piece by @willbunch.bsky.social:
We need to be honest with ourselves and our leaders about Venezuela

We are a rogue state, a global pariah

Trump is ruling as a dictator, period

An axis of evil wants to carve up small, resource-rich nations

The message for 2026 is clear: No kings!

My new column www.inquirer.com/opinion/trum...
America launches its 250th birthday year by becoming a rogue state | Will Bunch
Trump's illegal war on Venezuela cemented his claim to dictatorship and marked the U.S. as a global pariah.

There is nothing good about Donald Trump. He thinks only of himself. All his actions should be regarded on a spectrum ranging from suspicious to malevolent.
Get it together Congress.
Sad. Those who think this operation was about the illegal capture of Maduro rather than a massive armed robbery by the US of Ven oil are either not paying attention or consciously regurgitating admin spin. The reality: Giving him a pass on this only invites more disasters.
Some Democrats hate that their party is largely positioning itself in opposition to the operation that resulted in Maduro's capture.

"Everything Trump touches must be bad according to the base," one House Dem told @axios.com

Said another: "It looks weak." www.axios.com/2026/01/04/m...

Tom Cotton is a fascist. He’s as bad as Steve Miller, even looks like him with hair.
COTTON: If they don't want to follow in Maduro's footsteps, they need to start meeting our demands. And it's always an option for our military to protect American citizens and interests

BASH: And the interest is Venezuelan oil fields in this case?
January 4, 2026 at 3:02 PM
Helloooooo! Chris Murphy, et al!
Your job is to stop him from these illegal acts, not to go on the news and inform media that he’s committing illegal acts. Get off the media and do what you were elected to do.
Stop wringing your hands and ACT UP, fight back, fight Trump.
Chris Murphy: "Clearly this is wildly illegal. This is a president who has been operating illegally since he was sworn in -- stealing from the American people, seizing spending power, now dragging America into a war overseas ... Donald Trump's entire foreign policy is corrupt."

The president unilaterally decided to attack a sovereign nation and kidnap its leader, and now he says he's just going to run that county himself for a while too.

Call your representatives now and demand they impeach him.
Trump on Venezuela: "We're going to run the country until such time as we can do a safe, proper, and judicious transition"

Our reps are ready to go at any time. The problem is those that won’t and there’s just too damn many of them.
If we had a real democracy, there would have been votes of no confidence with the the dissolution of the government. But we’re a sham democracy!

But Moulton, y’all believed Bush and voted (nearly unanimously) to go look for those unicorns (WMD) in Iraq.
Both parties, both houses voted in favor of Cheney’s, oops, Bush’s whim.
A plague on all your houses!
Moulton: "The parallels with Iraq are unmistakeable. Bush said there was WMD in Iraq. Turns out that was a lie. Trump just made up fentanyl being WMD, which doesn't even come from Venezuela, just to justify this war. We said this wasn't about regime change, but it is."
January 3, 2026 at 6:15 PM
Or the status quo duopoly stronghold. Big money’s in the pockets of both parties. A plague on both their houses!
If we’re going to become a true democracy, there must be multiple parties, rather than just two, proportional representation, a parliamentary system, and term limits, for all branches.
The challenges we now face must be met by a bold progressive populist movement that strengthens democracy and shakes up the system.

We can’t simply return to the path we were on before Trump.

We cannot accept the status quo of Big Money dominating our politics and economy.

Trump is a true American creation. He was formed from the prime principles of this country: greed, lust, want, ignorance- the list is not exhaustive.
America is like a collective Dr. Frankenstein, that spawns countless men like him, then fosters, nurtures, and protects them.
In any other White House, this WSJ article would be immediate cause for impeachment. With Trump just add it to the pile.

This country is so ignorant when it comes to socialism.

Just because I do that it doesn’t mean I’m capitalist claiming to be socialist

I was wondering what Mamdani's first executive order would be, and I'm not disappointed by this.

He has wiped off the books EVERY Eric Adams executive order issued on or after September 26, 2024, the day Adams was indicted on federal bribery charges.

What if we became a country that actually made life easier and success attainable for refugees and veterans, and less of a haven for greedy and malevolent tax cheaters and hoarders of wealth?

Quote for today and forever. It explains quite a bit.

“Money never made a man happy yet, nor will it. There is nothing in its nature to produce happiness. The more a man has, the more he wants. Instead of filling a vacuum, it creates one.” These were the words uttered by Benjamin Franklin.
