Bad news out of South Africa re rhino poaching. Pelham Jones of Private Rhino Owners’ Assoc tells me c600 killed in 2023, up about 152 on last year. 282 killed in KZN, mostly on provincial-run reserves. Disappointing as African rhino population seemed to recovering. Awaiting official confirmation.

The lbreathing space, with cull suspended, should be used by this rich country, to mitigate the conflict with wolves and compensate farmers for losses. if wolves have to be killed sell permits for limited shooting. www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-e...
