I don’t want to brag, but I’m the parent of two kids under 5 and both my kitchen and living room are currently tidy.

A lot of people say parents no longer have a village. I’ve found this is to be untrue if you can afford to buy the village. And the villagers you pay for have masters degrees. I often wonder what that will mean for kids from different socioeconomic backgrounds in 18 years.

I wrote this and a couple people responded with offers to help! That’s really rad!!
I genuinely think people do what they can. They don’t know how. I want someone to let people know how terrible my local county jail is. I don’t have a clue how to do that. There isn’t an infrastructure for activism in the U.S.

A friend of mine is a state legislator and she decided not to run for re-election because the job doesn’t pay enough to cover her daycare costs and living expenses.
people hate hearing this but it's 100% true, creating a huge pay gap between political leaders, their staffs, and other elites is a recipe for corruption. of course the flip side of that is taxes on the rich should be jacked way the hell up
The Mayor of New York only makes $260k. I bet there are police that make more than that in NY with overtime.
We need to pay elected leaders more money and stop pretending it's some sort of calling. They're managing hundreds of billions of dollars in investments and millions of people's lives.

If you’re going to suggest someone do something and then get mad when that person asks how to do what you suggested, maybe don’t make the suggestion. 🤷♀️ This might be the most demoralizing interaction I’ve ever had with another human being.
Look, folks generally want to help, yeah? You said you wanted to do something but didn't know where to start. I offered a feasible suggestion. If you don't want suggestions, don't put it out there! You even got a nice offer from someone to help! Have a blessed day anyways.

I thought the tradeoff withe Project 2025 was that they'd be more organized. Maybe more evil than the first term, but also more competent.

My husband & I have been trying to conceive a second child for a couple years now. I’m in a couple online support groups for this. It’s common for Republican women get really upset when you acknowledge what Republicans are doing to women’s health care.
