“There’s been an accident at the studio.”
“We made Hobgoblins.”

Yeah that sounds accurate….

This is the stupidest timeline, and also so wholly unsurprising

I knew they’d come for the archivists and librarians but honestly I assumed it would be for a reason better than “Our Special Boy wants to give his friend a sword! Give him a sword!”
piperformissouri.bsky.social
“They asked for a sword, and we said, ‘Well, we do have swords, but we can’t give them away because they’re museum artifacts,’” said Todd Arrington, forced to resign as head of Dwight D. Eisenhower Presidential Library.”

I slipped and fell on my tailbone last December. I was out of work for most of a week and it STILL hurts on occasion.

If you slipped and fell today at your age …. How long do you think you’d be in pain ?

I had to lead a department meeting in the middle of today’s Cubs game, and this was my first slide:
Presentation slide that reads “The Cubs might literally clinch their first postseason spot in 5 years this afternoon, and I’m missing it for this meeting.”

“Bridge disagreements?” Yeah, that’s what Charlie Kirk was trying to do. He really believed in finding common ground with other people /s

This man will not be fired for calling for the murder of American citizens, yet multiple journalists/reporters/teachers lost their job for accurately reporting things Charlie Kirk actually said and stood for.

But it’s the “violent left” that’s the problem

I am having a hard time reconciling "Charlie Kirk was a fierce advocate of open dialogue and free expression" with "we must identify and persecute everyone who is insufficiently mournful"
After Charlie Kirk's death, teachers and professors nationwide fired or disciplined over social media posts
At least a dozen faculty and staff have faced fallout over insensitive comments online.

Pritzker, Johnson, and the people of Chicago all said 🖕🏻🖕🏼🖕🏽🖕🏾🖕🏿🖕🏻to Trump. So damn proud of this state

Rarely does this regime give such a compliment to the folks fighting back. Please work to make this courage contagious: nokings.org

You can regret that someone died in such a violent manner and call for an end to political violence without telling us that we need to honor his memory. He didn’t engage in good faith debate. He spread hate and actively campaigned for a world where everyone except white hetero men are less safe.
governor.ca.gov
The best way to honor Charlie's memory is to continue his work: engage with each other, across ideology, through spirited discourse. In a democracy, ideas are tested through words and good-faith debate — never through violence.

“awful people don’t deserve to be killed, but they don’t deserve to be praised, either” is apparently a thought too complex for the pundit mind

Charlie Kirk spent his life‘s work and all of his energy and time targeting out-groups while arguing for a world in which gun massacres would be easy to enact, plentiful, and inevitable, and he became famous and wealthy doing it, and we’re now not supposed to mention that because it’s not polite.
