Favourite board game: again not new but I’ve had so much fun playing Brass Birmingham this year. It’s been great finding more time to sit down for a few hours with friends and really get deep into a game. It’s satisfying building up your network and handles tech advancement nicely for a board game

Favourite TTRPG book: it’s not new, but new to me: Gods Teeth. When I started reading this I was a bit worried it would be a sort of edgy overly dark campaign. I was stunned by how maturely it draws from real world and supernatural horrors, blending the two into something utterly unique.

Favourite football game: Leeds 6 stoke 0. Watched this with my cousin and some mates at the supporters club in London and it was a total party atmosphere from the second the first goal went in. Absolutely sensational release of emotion after the pressure of missing promotion the previous year

Album - The mocking stars. Honestly didn’t expect Lausse the cat to release a second album and lost my mind when this was announced. Not as strong narratively as the girl the cat and the tree but absolutely love the blend of sounds and genres. Listened to it almost on loop since it came out.

Best film: Friendship. Says 2024 but it was in cinemas 2025 so I think that counts. I love these kind of films where you watch someone unravel their life through poor decisions. Had a weirdly powerful emotional impact on me and of course cracked me up the whole way through.

Favourite game of 2025: seance of Blake manor. Oozes with character. Great music, VA, art style, and story. Played it for about 3 solid days from start to end, totally hooked me. Really enjoyed the Irish setting and use of mythology combined with the murder mystery genre.

can we buy it on its own?

I’ve been twice, both times running our own games though rather than their events. The staff seemed nice enough, a bit overfamiliar perhaps. Main reason we haven’t been back is it’s twice the price for us to run our games there as other places in London.
