West and Natalwala et al. report on the first Parkinson’s α-synuclein mutation rat model. A single glycine-to-aspartic acid change at codon 51 in the Snca gene reduced localisation of αSyn to synapses and increased Lewy pathology acquisition. Read at buff.ly/INqAMcL
