Full time: Sunderland 1-1 Leeds. Many would have taken a draw pre-match, but visitors deserved to win that and may have done on another day. Brilliant second-half response. Grit and resolve. Five unbeaten, seven points clear of 18th. #lufc

Government services aren't businesses. Delivering mail to citizens is something we pay for.

But if these are businesses, you won't believe how much money the military loses.

The USPS faces a tight squeeze. With fewer people using the mail, it’s lost more and more money: $9 billion in the 12 months ending in September alone.

This is a model for what actual masculinity should be. Men don’t need to spend more time in caves beating their chests with other men; they need to take their daughters to a meaningful thing and talk to them about it. Relatedly I think the biggest cure for toxic masculinity is platonic women friends
In 2023 I became obsessed with videos of dads in cargo shortswaiting in parking lots during Taylor Swift's Eras Tour. So when she came to town, I grabbed a camera and headed down to talk to them. I thought it'd be funny. It turned out to be something else entirely.

Man, the best part about this run Leeds have been on is seeing them come into their own. All the mediocre football they were playing before has been replaced by crazy energy and solid decisions.

It's so great.

I appreciate the commentators of this Leeds game are giving it to the ref for that ridiculous non-call on Aaronson.

I think the Democrat Machine is going to throw their weight behind Beshear. Could be worse, but it will be yet another missed opportunity.
Democratic Presidential Polling:

Newsom: 23%
Harris: 22%
Buttigieg: 11%
AOC: 6%
Pritzker: 5%
Booker: 4%
Shapiro: 4%
Walz: 3%
Beshear: 3%
Kelly: 2%
Whitmer: 2%

Robin Williams was at the same showing of Borat. Everyone in the theater knew he was there.

Trailer before Borat: one of the Night at the Museum movies.

Everyone went ape shit.
Raising the always fun question: What are your most memorable theater-going experiences?

Mine also include The Matrix, Blair Witch, and being way too stoned in Belgium when Fellowship of the Ring was sold out so we sat in the back row for Mulholland Drive instead.
It was hands-down one of the most memorable theater-going experiences I can remember, a collective 30-minute butt-clench/armrest-grab for the final climb. And we knew he lived! Wild.

That supposed snapshot from Twitter where the Lt. Gov. of Indian says Trump threatened their federal funding isn't real.

Let's be better than them.

This, this, this.

This gap in language, in ideas, should be talked about MORE.
4) Ages ago I noted there's just a vast gap in experience, in language, in the very ideas between the very rich, the techbros, and the rest of us, as deep as, say, THE ARRIVAL aliens. We do not use words with the same meaning. Don't even have the same value in and from the human experience

What's the breakdown of people who actually don't know that our barely regulated capitalism is perhaps our biggest problem vs those who do and just won't admit it?
