Things can get better but they are not going to get better on their own. We have to accept that we are responsible for making things better, and that may include sacrifice. I am willing to accept that sacrifice, and while I am still figuring out what that means, I am willing to find the #GoodTrouble

Will be interesting to see how this plays out. How did Iowa’s preseason and final Ken Poms compare?
professorg.bsky.social
Some crazy numbers here. Iowa’s offense has managed to capitalize much more efficiently in turning good field position into points than previous years. Extremely clean with penalties as usual. Only allowed one 4th down conversion with 9 attempts

What have Iowa’s preseason ratings been the last few years?

I mean that basically describes @propublica.org, which just shows that these people don’t actually care about real journalism nor would recognize it when it’s presented to them.

The end of federal enforcement of special ed laws. Some states - including MN - will likely be ok. But a lot of disabled kids in a lot of states are going to lose the education that federal law and decades of jurisprudence say they are owed.

I'm just one person, and my programming needs are somewhat unusual (building various kinds of statistical forecasting models). But I'm just not seeing the consistent productivity gains from LLMs that I would have expected if you'd asked me 6 months ago.

ICE secretly kidnap autistic boy during bathroom break—never notify parents.

Mother reported him missing a week ago—turns out ICE had him detained the whole time.

He was helping sell fruit and asked to go to the restroom—by the time she was done helping a customer he was gone.

“So we fight on just the same. With Dylan Thomas, we refuse to go quietly into that good night, but rather rage, rage against the dying of the light.

Or, as another poet put it, ‘Until such time as the world ends, we will act as though it intends to spin on.’”
