Sigh. This was literally my first interaction with another human today. Hopeless.

I went to Eternity too, which was a great antidote. Almost the exact opposite in terms of relationships. It was like a throwback 90s concept rom-com made with today's stylistic choices. And consistently funny right the way through. Loved it.

I do think Lurker is a very good film but it was so uncomfortable to watch. The power dynamics back and forth were so cynical and nasty. But I worry that's the way the world is now with Stan culture/social media. Which is why I just stay in the house and hope I'll meet a nice someone nice.

It's been like 15+ years now so I may as well commit to the bit and just keep not knowing. Maybe I'll wait until the last one comes out in 10 years or some shit and watch that first just for the craic.

Or is it that they'd be doing this anyway and the humans are piggybacking so we're getting a real insight into an average cyan person's life? Like an episode of space EastEnders. I could look up a wiki but I don't care enough emotionally. Just fed up getting attacked by their big lanky cinema ads.

Not new in terms of release but I can offer a couple that are maybe a bit less obvious; Cocteau Twins' covers of 'Winter Wonderland' and 'Frosty the Snowman.' Oh and Barbra Streisand's unhinged cover of 'Jingle Bells' always makes me laugh.

Obviously I look at it through a different lens now, my god the performances, and 'get it' more as well. But with QT using Fortnite to conclude this 20 odd year old affair, maybe my 11 year old self was intended audience all along. I hope that he at least did right by Uma this time.

In an alternate timeline, QT made his last film on schedule and then released this, making the Fortnite scene tacked on at the end his final work, which would be embarrassing but feel apt. I first saw Kill Bill as a preteen (on VHS no less) and it blew my mind. But my appreciation of it has matured.

Some of the creative choices in that Fortnite scene were hollow and terrible. It's interesting that nobody talks about why that scene was never filmed. It would've been thrilling to have had it, in either live action or the anime style but what we got didn't feel like part of what preceded it.

This was a few years ago. I've not worked steadily since the pandemic. Barely leave the house and don't interact with anyone when I do. I just can't. But because I'm not on loads of medications and keep myself physically fit, in everyone's eyes I'm AOK. It's tiring. Sorry for the multiple replies.
