I'm a queer game designer hailing from Amiskwaciy-wâskahikan. I care about make believe and liberation. www.buriedwithoutceremony.com

A.) a pack of 15-25 generic "burp cloths." Newborns spew fluid constantly so having an endless supply of little cloths is good.

B.) something nice for mom. Either a tasty treat or an activity that's really easy to engage with one-handedly while holding a half-asleep baby.

I think the focus on The Forge's influence and the start date of 2010 make a lot of sense if you think of this video as a persuasive essay with "Apocalypse World transformed the post-Forge/story games landscape, and its impact can still be felt fifteen years later" as its guiding argument.

Astute readers will note the second piece of advice implicit in that one: you should center your design and testing on your play materials, rather than starting by writing a book and adding these in later as an afterthought.

(This advice is the crux of the forthcoming Game Design for Creatures.)

Thank you for the reminder to pick up the anthology!

In terms of signal boosting, is this link the best thing to RT? bsky.app/profile/game... (Also: it would be good if you had an evergreen promo tweet for it as your pinned tweet!)

Oh, perfect example! Thank you! There's even a sample page from the book that includes this treatment that I can link from the product page on the BPG site. Thanks Sam!
