There's at least one pretty big implication from all this:

The US stock market is literally just one big circle-jerk of imaginary money being turned into real money only when it benefits those who hold the majority of said stock.

And that's pretty bad.
If you're sharing in the widespread feelings of outrage/heartbreak/hopelessness in the US this week, and you aren't sure what you can personally do to make a difference: I've found this guide from @aclu.org to be both a straightforward & super helpful starting point: www.aclu.org/news/civil-l...

The deeper we find ourselves into this lil Luigi rabbit hole, the more intriguing the many conspiracy theories surrounding it become.

🧵/ When we make our usual grocery runs, I'm typically looking like my usual gremlin-esque self: sweats, no makeup, etc.

Yesterday was different in that we were also going to stop at an auto parts store to pick up new tail lights for my bf's car. I knew what we needed & how to replace them @ home.

Learned this a few years back & sharing is caring: This sneaky bloatware installs at the directive of your cell SP, not the phone's manufacturer(who typically supplies the security update).

Can confirm from experience: Verizon has an option to disable this "feature."
Not sure about other providers.
Every single time you get a security update on any phone you will ever own, you'll also get a game or two of bloatware installed.

Are there any grab-n-go breakfast options that don't suck?

Hunger cues are unicorns on my current meds, so a mindful eating schedule is a must. Breakfast foods are a bummer & take too long, granola bars make me nauseous for whatever reason, and I'm getting sick of bananas.

We know the US is fucked, and things are only going to get worse.

I genuinely want to help make a difference to whatever degree, but I don't know how, or even where to start.

I'm sure I'm not alone in this, yeah?

My doctor warned me that an odd, but common, side effect of my new medication is that it can make all carbonated beverages taste flat.

I can now confirm that soda tastes like sadness in a can, and I regret ever drinking it for funsies in the first place.

Now would be the perfect time for a massive new open world game to take over my life. Give me a backpack with upgradable tools and set me loose upon a world of someone else’s making, please.

Are we talking an actual, money-in-pocket billionaire? Or the net-worth type that most "billionaire" CEOs fall into?

Join me for a simplified version of the US-based info rabbit hole I found myself in earlier this evening. 🔍🐇

(TL;DR: Everybody sucks & we're all fucked.)
There’s a lot of discourse about CEOs and billionaires right now. It’s hard to have this convo on TikTok but I think Bluesky can handle it with nuance.

Are all billionaires bad?

General media coverage needs to consist of less celebrity drama and more real-time murder mystery investigation news like the UHC CEO footage. Sign me up for content like this ANY day.
