Brands: Urban Arrow, ICE, Nihola +
Message still to get through. Was tempted to go out and leaflet the cars 'parked' on St Peter's Place. Scaffie wagon was in the mix. Yes living in 2026 produces rubbish congestion so no point tooting your horn. 😆
'Luckily' the shared use pavement allowed cars to escape. People avoid on foot & bike.

So we now have both the UA FamilyNext and Breeze in stock in both black and green! Demos are better in black during this 🌧 winter weather 😆 @banzaiedinburgh.bsky.social @portyenergy.bsky.social @sw20.info @spokes.org.uk @cargobikemovement.bsky.social @cargobikefest.bsky.social Longer demos welcome.

Big boxes with mild excitement this week as our first Urban Arrow Breeze models arrived! 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿 🇳🇱 Neat kickstand, powerful lights, click in seat pads. All very integrated. Test ride and tell us what you think. Open 10 till 3.30 today. New 🇮🇹 Veloe Multi Lungo coming too.

Edge of snow above the village. 'Normal' winters of old are now exceptional... snow only lying above 300m most of week. Just endless rain instead 😞 In past it would be at above 200m making it a bit brighter at least! On Ember commute to city. E11 Driver said Glenshee was bit wild but was on time!
February 5, 2026 at 7:19 PM
... another green one went to South 🇿🇦 Africa. New Multi Lungo demo coming along with the new UA Breeze longtail. Two arrived today direct from Amsterdam 🇳🇱

New Circe Eos separable tandem on way to customer. Hope Hubs. Alex eyeletted rims. Conti Gatorskins. 2x11 set up. Rear rack & guards. Fully equipped for wide range of riders. 🚫 No batteries required. It's smaller Helios twin is a great school run bike.

Our made in Italy 🇮🇹 Veloe models get around. A family from Edinburgh took their Multi to New 🇺🇸 York where they now live. Another green one went to South 🇿🇦 Africa. New Multi Lungo demo coming along with the new UA Breeze longtail.

Left a waterlogged Strathardle on 8am 71 school bus. Bus 2 got over the Isla. Just made the LNER 10am train. Stop at Gleneagles. In Haymarket by 11.18am. Almost integrated transit. 😆 If it rains again then can see diversions looming! 🌊

🛑 Reminding people that Spittal of Glenshee is not the ski centre! That's at Cairnwell pass... over 300m higher up! The A93 runs through it and the snowgates closed till it gets dug out a bit.🛑
(Ember bus turned round!)

January continues in Strathardle with more flooding & snow on hills. Wet snow still at 300m mark. Gates closed on A93 but caught image with Ember E11 bus at Spittal going back to Dundee. Driver said yesterday they are keen to offer reliability so car owners don't 'have to' use cars in this weather

But will Scotland get value for money from this? Our surplus of natural resources should benefit those that live here. Graphs from Carbon Intensity site this evening.

Heading north to Blairgowrie on Ember E11 e-bus (Aberdeen via Braemar route). Driver said Glenshee very snowy earlier. Lower down it's still raining. Been days and days now. 🌧🌧🌧 A923 now open but River Isla spilling out everywhere.

Used very small amount of Scotland's 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿 expensive surplus renewable electricity to deliver a big box to Pack & Send. One fifth of 500Wh Bosch pack as was in hurry! Av speed faster than inner city norm. Plus I can park at door using new bike lanes... then again so can a Brakes food delivery truck. 😆

Interesting?

Got to shop late but safely. Some details to finish on this new Nihola Bafang trike for customer in Newcastle. Built in 🇩🇰 and shipped direct despite Brexit. He was inspired by a yellow demo one we sold last year. Similar but not identical.
January 24, 2026 at 3:43 PM
We're on our way to shop. Every bus late or diverted but grateful to drivers surfing the routes. 🌊 Group of passengers in village shop exchanging the stories. At Glenshee Ski Centre there's snow. Non stop rain lower down. Ember e-bus 25 mins late. In shop by 14.30. @transform.scot

SHOP CLOSED Amber ⚠️ Announcement. Flooding caused by incessant rainfall has prevented us travelling yesterday & today. We'e travelling to Edinburgh tomorrow but shop won't open till 2pm earliest. Sorry for any inconvenience caused. @edi.bike @spokes.org.uk

Day 2 of local flooding. School closed. Local 71 bus couldn't make it past Ballintuim. Ember e-bus did get over into Glenshee but then hit the real barrier which is the River Isla cutting off Blairgowrie and Alyth from South. Now heading east to Dundee via Kirriemuir @transform.scot @srd.bsky.social

A924 this morning. Further north the morning 71 school bus got stuck at Bridge of Cally. Rescued by parents / school closed. Basically snow and ice in the southern Cairngorms is draining down to the sea! Shee water & Alt Fearnach/Ardle go into the Ericht in Blairgowrie ➡️ into the Isla and Tay.
January 22, 2026 at 9:36 PM
Torrents of rain flooding roads round Strathardle = buses + community car cancelled. This morning Ember e-bus went by Glenshee but turned around before Bridge of Cally. School bus got stuck there. Upshot is a missed Celtic Connections concert but with some people's homes flooded that's minor.
January 22, 2026 at 8:01 PM
Graphs from www.carbonintensity.org.uk are always interesting. Octopus suggest zonal pricing could be worth exploring as north has a surplus of wind power most days coupled with high electric costs. About to be increased too when the massive Berwick Bank wind farm comes on stream.

Good article in today's National about the Goshawk and asks why forested Scotland doesn't have more. (Apart from 'sporting' estates illegally shooting them). Reading on Ember bus as usual on our journey north. @scotnational.bsky.social

A9 diverted traffic in convoys held up our local bus tonight. Main street of village very busy inc HGVs. Waiting along with two teenagers also using their free bus pass. Still made our connection. All buses were tracked so 15 min delay only.
Shop open tomorrow. 👍
