Left a waterlogged Strathardle on 8am 71 school bus. Bus 2 got over the Isla. Just made the LNER 10am train. Stop at Gleneagles. In Haymarket by 11.18am. Almost integrated transit. 😆 If it rains again then can see diversions looming! 🌊

🛑 Reminding people that Spittal of Glenshee is not the ski centre! That's at Cairnwell pass... over 300m higher up! The A93 runs through it and the snowgates closed till it gets dug out a bit.🛑

January continues in Strathardle with more flooding & snow on hills. Wet snow still at 300m mark. Gates closed on A93 but caught image with Ember E11 bus at Spittal going back to Dundee. Driver said yesterday they are keen to offer reliability so car owners don't 'have to' use cars in this weather

But will Scotland get value for money from this? Our surplus of natural resources should benefit those that live here. Graphs from Carbon Intensity site this evening.

Diversion signage at Gilmore Place needs improving. 3 cars in a. row appeared to follow cycle diversion here down Leamington Rd then just exited GP as usual towards Tollcross. They had ignored previous signage about closed road and diversion at previous junction (Viewforth).

Used very small amount of Scotland's 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿 expensive surplus renewable electricity to deliver a big box to Pack & Send. One fifth of 500Wh Bosch pack as was in hurry! Av speed faster than inner city norm. Plus I can park at door using new bike lanes... then again so can a Brakes food delivery truck. 😆

Torrents of rain flooding roads round Strathardle = buses + community car cancelled. This morning Ember e-bus went by Glenshee but turned around before Bridge of Cally. School bus got stuck there. Upshot is a missed Celtic Connections concert but with some people's homes flooded that's minor.

Interesting read. Part of the dialogue that's going on about how communities could benefit more from local wind farm ownership.

We found this the case with Whitehouse Loan yesterday also, which resulted in a hard fall turning right into Blackford Rd. Five minutes later we witnessed another kid fall at the turning off of Newbattle Terrace onto Whitehouse Loan.

Good article in today's National about the Goshawk and asks why forested Scotland doesn't have more. (Apart from 'sporting' estates illegally shooting them). Reading on Ember bus as usual on our journey north. @scotnational.bsky.social

Local Heron action. Every neighbourhood should have one! The Union Canal is a huge green asset to Fountainbridge.
I met a heron at Leamington Lift Bridge this morning. It's obviously used to people and was just wandering about as joggers ran by. #Edinburgh.
