If you cycle tour then you now have an alternative to ScotRail / Citylink / Flix for bike transport. Ember routes now go as far north as Wick & Thurso

Bikes are easy to prebook on Ember site. They don't insist on bike bag but not too muddy as bike may go in hold.

Bad news ... Local bus interchange only operating winter hours now. 😔 Post Brexit Highland economy = Bridge of Cally Hotel bar only open Fri & Sat.
Good news .... Ember e-bus to Dundee only 30 mins late due to snow - changed ticket to next bus for free. @sw20.info @transform.scot @edfoc.bsky.social

Route detail from today & a week ago showing 'taxi' approach of Ember. If no-one is booked to or joining in Perth the e-bus avoids city centre. E9 used the M90 link to join the A9 and arrived early in Pitlochry at 13.05 (1hr 35m from Haymarket) Left for Inverness 13.15. @futureeconscot.bsky.social

Let's face it. Cowgate is the capital's original 'traffic sewer'. 🐀 🐀 🐀 Most local residents are not car owners. Most visitors walk. Time to open it with space for safely walking through / close to through traffic. This in turn will reduce rush hour queues in Grassmarket using this East West route.
Ahead of the @edinburghcouncil.bsky.social Transport and Environment committee meeting on Thursday members of @edcriticalmass.bsky.social protested about lack of action on Cowgate

Useful to know who is profiting from the natural assets that powers our e-bikes and much else. We've taken a screenshot of a frame as animation hard to see. Many feel the licenses were sold too cheaply.

Second Monday using Ember Inverness e-bus. Few more passengers - someone with a bike on in Perth at St Leonards stop between bus and rail stations. Roadworks = around 10 minutes late in Pitlochry. Summer slower on crowded A9? Good at quiet times! 😉 @transform.scot @spokes.org.uk @edfoc.bsky.social

Putting cargobike price and functionality into context. Rural drivers tend to go for a Berlingo or similar to avoid panniers. So this highlights the divide between having stuff all in one box (Urban Arrow) versus requiring external bags (Land Rover and Veloe Multi) 😆
