I think at this point if you're including Diane Abbott - a woman who has never held government office, has been a backbencher since 2020, and is scarcely a government ally - on your list of political wrongdoers, we all know exactly what your real concerns are

We are moving inexorably to the end point of electoral chaos - five parties all tied on 19% in the polls, election to be decided by blindfolded chimps chucking coloured darts at a constituency map
Westminster Voting Intention:

RFM: 25% (-2)
LAB: 19% (=)
CON: 18% (+1)
GRN: 16% (-1)
LDM: 15% (+2)

All DOGE accomplished was purging critical government staff, handing private data to outsiders, and sentencing thousands in developing countries to death by gutting USAID.

I don’t say this lightly: if there were any justice in this world, the people responsible for this devastation would be in jail
DOGE 'doesn't exist' with eight months left on its charter
U.S. President Donald Trump's Department of Government Efficiency has disbanded with eight months left to its mandate.

lol no why should I accept the technology my students are being misled into using to bypass the actual process of learning anything? Which is making my relationship with them so much worse? Which makes my teaching life so much worse?

Yeah bro I totally love it 🙄
Is this platform still massively against AI or has it moved more towards acceptance?

This is another thing I had to cut from my piece - the minimum wage is best understood as an anti-poverty measure *for single or childless couples at the start of their working lives*. But it's not a lever that helps most people struggling to make ends meet. Only cash transfers do that.
Why the two-child limit has to go, in a chart.

Impressive increase until you read that in a similar period, Paris cycling numbers increased by 240%.

Only 40% of people cycling in London feels safe when sharing with cars, but 76% feel safe on designated routes.

London needs to do a lot more and a lot quicker.

Absolutely insane news from Egypt, where award-winning human rights lawyer Mohamed el-Baqer has had his terrorism designation renewed for another five years.

Mohamed was pardoned by Sisi in July 2023 after being prosecuted and after serving jail time for his work as a lawyer.

Because people *still* don’t understand that overseas students subsidise home students. This is punishing everyone involved.
With Rachel Reeves reportedly set to apply a new tax on tuition fees paid by overseas students, most Britons support such a move at the previously mooted level of 6%

Support: 57%
Oppose: 18%

Kneecapping one of the UK‘s main exports because you boxed yourself in with unsustainable tax pledges and too cowardly to properly walk it back is contemptible.

Reeves‘ unfortunate tenure in No 11 will be marked by lots of small, damaging tax increases because the alternative was too hard.
