Why cyclists fear dangers of new Edinburgh tram route
www.heraldscotland.com/opinion/2564...

Lots of good points here, the main problem is that there is no plan for reducing motor traffic which takes up a disproportionate amount of space within the city.
Risks and dangers of Edinburgh's tram proposal for cyclists
When it comes to Edinburgh trams and cycling, the focus has been mainly on the Roseburn Path. But cyclists are worried about other dangers.

Edinburgh has an aspiration to lessen car Km driven & increase its cycling network, and therefore increase the number of people cycling. Also, Remember that Edinburgh is a city where only 1/2 of households have access to a car

It's disappointing to see public safety cited as a reason for implementing such a dangerous diversion across a busy junction.
It should be possible to manage the risk of works along the path as done for CEC's regular lighting, devegetation and drainage works.
