Yeah members of my family are totally colorblind and to them the lightest brown and anything paler all look effectively the same or similar

Sometimes, this results in some people looking ethnically ambiguous to them since they can’t see eye colors or skin undertones. But otherwise, they’re fine

Yes and no. Colorblindness runs in my family and no one struggles to process the shades of light to dark. But they struggle to process the difference between paler skin with pink undertones vs paler skin with yellow undertones

So paler tones look the same, but they still know they’re paler tones

In fairness, I too think greyhounds are weird stretched out pyrs with alopecia

Yep. Given the chaotic staffing, he’ll probably stay the acting one for another couple years

And of these states, North Carolina and Texas has senate elections this year

And his approval among all adults is underwater in so many states, that if non-2024 voters vote this year, we could see a large political realignment. I err on the side of avoiding optimism, but his support has collapsed

And when we analyze approval ratings among only 2024 voters state by state, according to the Economist, Trump has lost Arizona, Georgia, Michigan, North Carolina, Nevada, Pennsylvania, Texas, and Wisconsin, which is notable since 2024 had a lower voter turnout, especially among D leaners.

This comes from the myth some people are innately immune from having reactionary beliefs or tendencies. No, we ALL have reactionary beliefs or tendencies at least once or twice. So these people tell themselves “Of course I believe in restorative justice” but they absolutely carve out exceptions

As I age, I develop a stronger appreciation for teachers and how they try to work within intentionally evil frameworks to try to produce thoughtful critical thinkers in spite of it all
January 29, 2026 at 9:02 PM
Obviously I oppose “balanced” curriculum for being the revisionist BS it clearly is. However, my good teachers exploiting it to teach critical thinking, debate skills, and research skills will always be stuck with me. They overcame 60 year old textbooks and biased right wing curriculum guidelines

Meaning we had to research each “side” and debate using verifiable information, which only resulted in radicalizing me left and dispelled me of any notion of “product of their time” since we had to research the stances of those of that era. Most “sides” clearly lacked verifiable research & backing
