I read, I procrastinate reading things I want to, I sometimes carve, make games, paint, and maintain a life as uneventful as I can manage.
Almost immediately bailed on playing Riven yesterday. Went to look at a walkthrough after I decided I was done, and the first few sentences gave me a headache. Myst eventually got me to stop playing and watch a video because it felt tedious at points, but I didn't feel like I couldn't solve a puzzle

The real Turing test is that AI will stop using em dashes if you ask; humans will make you pry their favorite punctuation out of their cold, dead hands.
when someone tells me not to use em dashes because AI uses em dashes

I've been playing "The Excavation of Hob's Barrow", and immensely enjoy the line "Curses, I forgot I had this worm in my pocket." Rip Kenneth, my best friend in Bewlay

I've hardly slept since 6pm Friday, and I'm really feeling like I'm not gonna do it before I go into work tonight. I feel great, I've been having a great time being awake, but I am aware of the future cost of not getting any sleep

just a reminder that bandcamp friday is tomorrow & streaming services are interrupting music streams with ai generated shit, flooding the database with artists that don't exist in any way other than profiting the platform owners

so instead of paying a monthly fee, buy an album or two each month ok

Got a spam call at 12 on the dot. As a night shift worker, this is basically the same as getting a spam call at midnight. Unfortunately I had my phone volume on to wake me, cause there's been a fair amount of overtime at work and I love to use money.

Reading from Koji Suzuki's "Death and the Flower", because I was looking at recent additions to libby and I saw that he was the author of the novelization of "(The) Ring" and got curious.
The first short story has interesting things to think about, but holds absolutely no appeal to me at all.

Started playing Heaven's Vault, and I'm enjoying it a lot. I'm curious what the dialogue system is sort of built like. There are a few times where it suffers from the intent of the player not translating to the intent of the character, but I think it is more than interesting enough to not mind that.

Playing Skies of Arcadia on the recommendation of a friend, and I have robust belief that Drachma is a famous child murderer which has a remarkable amount carrying it through

“The AI in the study probably prompted doctors to become over-reliant on its recommendations, ‘leading to clinicians becoming less motivated, less focused, and less responsible when making cognitive decisions without AI assistance,’ the scientists said in the paper.”
AI Eroded Doctors’ Ability to Spot Cancer Within Months in Study
Artificial intelligence, touted for its potential to transform medicine, led to some doctors losing skills after just a few months in a new study.

I would feel so much better about the process of putting my 3d printer together if the instructions didn't keep misleading me. Putting in the effort to understand some parts of the instructions leads me to incorrect answers.

I watched Jaws recently, and one of the things that most stuck with me is how much alcohol the cop drank. Thinking this guy being suggested to be an alcoholic will be important. Anyways it's a good movie, the parts you see the shark are the worst parts of the movie by far imo.

On the one hand I could probably finish this in an hour, on the other hand I don't want to. Starting to look worth the effort I've been putting in, which is less effort than I thought it would be.

I've really been enjoying my togedemaru deck in pokemon tcg pocket currently. I really made it for Alcremie decks and expected it to get destroyed by everything else, but actually it gets destroyed by fire decks and ties everything else.

Got a short haircut, thought it didn't look bad for 20 minutes and decided actually I hate it.

I have successfully made a mistake sewing, which fortunately isn't actually too bad of one, I just tried to use too little material because I had some scraps which are like a quarter of an inch shorter than I need them to be. If I had a little hook I might only need to be competent

Making a small mistake while sewing and taking 9 minutes to undo it...
Best to make it while it's only 9 minutes to undo it I guess

Started looking into sewing plushies today, and I'm really excited to mess it up horribly once I wake up. Reading tutorials, and acting confident I can intuit custom designs on my own without any practice.
